Experimental creative cuisine. A culinary journey that will excite all your senses! I was seated in the hidden room behind the wine cellar. My favourite bite was the caviar fried bun and fois gras. Not going to spoil the experience but u'll all love it.

Definitely my kind of place That’s the ideal place for me: mouthwatering food, excellent wine list with tons of hidden gems, friendly atmosphere and great vibe. Food is simple but the best ingredients used and everything cooked à la minute.
Direkte | Boqueria is a small spot in Barcelona’s Boqueria market that brings together Catalan cooking with Asian influences. Thrilling, fine dining level small dishes from the market stalls of the Boqueria. One of few places in Barcelona that gives you close-up access to the chefs and their work. Arnau Muñío was formerly head chef at Comerc 24, with various stints at other top-end places, before finding himself this cute little spot on the fringes of the Boqueria market. He offers a short tasting menu and a longer, Boqueria tasting menu, both of which shine a light on whatever is in season. Sit back, enjoy the show and the chatter - Muñío is quite happy interacting with guests, as is the small team of precise chefs that help execute some truly outstanding food. Highlights on this visit being a spectacular pumpkin wanton in escudella broth, raw scallops topped with a camagroc mushroom garum and a bowl of chawan mushi with erizo and uncooked, thinly sliced baby okra, and a sublimey runny macha cheesecake. With just 8 covers at the bar, and another 8 on an intimate terrace outside, scoring a table isn’t easy. But it’s well worth the pursuit. Expect to spend around €135 for the long tasting menu with an excellent wine pairing.
Dos Pebrots is a Barcelona restaurant that explores Catalan and ancestral Mediterranean cuisine, guided by chef Albert Raurich’s research into historic cooking methods. Explore the origins of Mediterranean cuisineA super restaurant in the Raval that looks to the civilisations that have come and gone in the Mediterranean and what they ate for inspiration. Some interesting use of garums, and nice plays on texture and temperature as you'd expect from ex-elBulli, but also brilliant meat cooking. Take a seat at the counter and marvel at the calmness of the kitchen as you work your way through the tasting menu or a la carte.
Estimar is a seafood restaurant in Barcelona led by Chef Rafa Zafra, who focuses on fresh local ingredients and straightforward cooking methods. The grill is the heart of the kitchen and you can feel it in every portion. Excellent wine list. A tasty experience to do if you are spending some days in Barcellona for a quick lunch or long and quiet dinner.

The renovated Enigma restaurant by Albert Adrià offers a great gastronomic experience. Chef Albert Adrià prepared almost 20 dishes for us and we were absolutely amazed by the creative execution and super tasty, precise flavors. We also decided to try their Sua bar, where in a separate room you can have special lobster dishes that are prepared in front of the guest on a small Josper grill. The wine list is great, but you should definitely try out their beautiful selection of cocktails.Great experience, absolutely for a recommendation!

The restaurant blends traditional Spanish cooking with modern, creative touches, focusing on fresh, market-driven ingredients. Fine dining without nitrogen Suculent is like a bridge between Catalan tradition and creativity, it’s fine dining without espuma and nitrogen but with friendly service and the cozy atmosphere of a gastropub. The tasting menus are balanced and you don’t feel overstuffed after the meal. It’s also a rare example of value for money and an interesting and not too fancy wine pairing.

Bisavis is a small, welcoming spot in Barcelona where guests can enjoy a casual, counter-based dining experience centered on fresh, seasonal ingredients. The atmosphere is laid-back and friendly, and the chef’s passion for both cooking and wine shines through in every visit. It’s an easy place to relax, learn a bit about wine, and try something new each time.

One of our favorite counters serving produce driven dishes and great wines.Bisavis is probably one of the restaurants we mention most often on this page, and this is because we want to come every time we are in Barcelona. The reasons for that are many, first of all, counters are our favorite way of experiencing a restaurant, then, you’re always guaranteed to have a great time with Eduard, and of course, we adore the food here. And regarding the wines, you are guaranteed to drink interesting wines and learn about them, given Eduard’s great passion for the subject. Now, focusing on what we ate, we had the following:* Cuttlefish, truffled egg yolk and Iberian pork jowl.* Picanha, sea urchin & balsamic vinegar.* Bonito (aged for 1 week), sea urchin & pesto.* Blood sausage from Perol & baby cuttlefish.* Blood sausage & prawns from Arenys.* Scallop & sobrassada.* “Tear drop” peas from Maresme & shaved truffle.* Sweetbread & caviar.* Panna cotta & caviar. There are dishes that are served on every visit, some times with a small twist, but then there are also always some new dishes, which is a perfect combo given we often miss specific dishes and also always like to try some new ones. Every single dish is always delicious, but in the case the cuttlefish with Iberian pork jowl was our favorite dish. The wine selection was great as well, and what we love is that we always get to try so many different ones by the glass which most places would only serve by the bottle.Definitely on of our favorite places in the city!
SENSATO Restaurant is a small sushi counter in Barcelona offering only an omakase menu. Guests appreciate the balanced mix of smaller courses and sushi pieces, creating a memorable experience where each bite stands out. It’s an intimate space that often fills up quickly, so plan ahead.

Traditional sushi counter serving only Omakase menu. This is definitely the best sushi that we know of currently in Barcelona and also one of the best in Spain. Sato used to work at Sato i Tanaka until he decided to open his own sushiya called Sensato. The restaurant is only a counter, which is the only way we like to enjoy sushi, and serves Omakase only as mentioned. The curious thing about this omakase compared to others we’ve had, is that they mix the otsumamis and the nigiris instead of starting with the otsumamis and then follow it with nigiris. We really enjoyed this format of mixing, and thought it was very nicely balanced to still be able to taste every single bite. Now let’s see some of the dishes we had:* O toro zuke with an egg yolk, soy and truffle sauce.* Iwashi nigiri.* Maguro zuke nigiri.* Gelatine of cockle broth, cockle, tomato and asparagus.* Ikura gunkan.* O toro nigiri.* Shiso with sardine tempura and beetroot tempura.* Unagi nigiri. The whole omakase was around 21 dishes long, these ones mentioned just are some of our favorites. We loved the place, the atmosphere, and above all that, the food! A place we can’t recommend enough, but be warned, it’s hard to book.

Al Kostat, located in Barcelona and opened as a complement to Alkimia, has become known for its relaxed take on Catalan cuisine. Its changing menu stays close to local traditions and ingredients, creating an easygoing atmosphere that encourages everyday dining.

Since it’s opening as a complement to Alkimia, Al Kostat has grow into one of the best catalan restaurants in Barcelona. Now it features an extended menu that goes from simple Anchovies, one of the best omelettes in Barcelona to more cooked and gourmand dishes like filled Pig Trotters or Game dishes when in season. Some of the best in the city are also their rices, like the red Mullet one or a classic taken from Alkimia with crayfish. Recently added to their menu is the Picasso chicken, one of the best roasted chickens I have tried. They also had a good wine list as it’s shared with Alkimia.

Great 'asador' in the middle of BarcelonaRafa and Jorge from Sartoria Panatieri opened Brabo a few months ago. Different proposal but same technique: the fire. Mainly they offer grilled dishes: vegetable, meat and fish very well done over the fire. Even the desserts. Comfy ambiance in a small restaurant. Highly recommended when you are in Barcelona and you escape from tapas restaurants and want fine dining with reasonable prices.

Where old money meets nouveau riche. Atmospheric place where ladies in their family diamonds and nouveau riches with LV shopping bags sit next to each other. Opulent tiered seafood plates, champagne in silver coolers, well aged waiters in their tuxedos; transparent jamon and tomato bread, great paella, calamari cooked with a generous pinch of chili and much more.
AÜRT Restaurant in Barcelona brings chef Artur Martinez’s pared-down cooking style from his former venture, Capritx, into a new setting at the Hilton Diagonal Mar. Visitors can watch the team finish each dish at two central counters, staying true to a straightforward and flavor-focused approach. Soon after opening, the restaurant was awarded its first star, reflecting its dedication to refined simplicity.

From the suburbs of Terrassa, Artur Martinez moved his awarded and often overlooked tiny restaurant Capritx to the lobby of Hilton Diagonal. Here he has reinforced his team with some young & talented chefs, and finally with a kitchen more according to his talent. All the action happens in two counters where the team will finish all the dishes.Expect the same style as Capritx, really minimalistic dishes but packed with flavour and upgraded desserts thanks to the addition of the new pastry chef. The motto of the place: We prefer reflected simplicity to forced complexity.Last week was awarded its first star just months after its opening.
