Fine dining seafood restaurant in the heart of Barcelona.High quality local ingredients processed in a simple way. Open kitchen and visibly fresh fish. The grill is the heart of the kitchen and you can feel it in every portion. Excellent wine list. Bisavis is a small, welcoming spot in Barcelona where guests can enjoy a casual, counter-based dining experience centered on fresh, seasonal ingredients. One of our favorite counters serving produce driven dishes and great wines.Bisavis is probably one of the restaurants we mention most often on this page, and this is because we want to come every time we are in Barcelona. The reasons for that are many, first of all, counters are our favorite way of experiencing a restaurant, then, you’re always guaranteed to have a great time with Eduard, and of course, we adore the food here. And regarding the wines, you are guaranteed to drink interesting wines and learn about them, given Eduard’s great passion for the subject. Now, focusing on what we ate, we had the following:* Cuttlefish, truffled egg yolk and Iberian pork jowl.* Picanha, sea urchin & balsamic vinegar.* Bonito (aged for 1 week), sea urchin & pesto.* Blood sausage from Perol & baby cuttlefish.* Blood sausage & prawns from Arenys.* Scallop & sobrassada.* “Tear drop” peas from Maresme & shaved truffle.* Sweetbread & caviar.* Panna cotta & caviar. There are dishes that are served on every visit, some times with a small twist, but then there are also always some new dishes, which is a perfect combo given we often miss specific dishes and also always like to try some new ones. Every single dish is always delicious, but in the case the cuttlefish with Iberian pork jowl was our favorite dish. The wine selection was great as well, and what we love is that we always get to try so many different ones by the glass which most places would only serve by the bottle.Definitely on of our favorite places in the city!

One of my favourite seafood tapas bars, without the tourist crowds, in Gracia.Lluritu is that seafood tapas bar we all dream of for our Barcelona trip, with a marble counter, and a menu on the wall with daily specials written on the tiles. Excellent fresh seafood, order the grilled calamar, shrimp, scallops, clams and the tomato and smoked eel salad. Also fish grilled or fried on the plancha. And those olives with anchovy filling with a glass of ice cold sherry, beer or white wine! Nice service, too. The other restaurant, Lluritu 2, is a few blocks away and has a similar menu but a modern interior.

Faultless Japanese multi course delightI visited on a Sunday lunchtime and was suitably blown away by a perfectly formed kaiseki style journey. Super fresh Mediterranean ingredients meet Japanese respect and technique to create possibly the best Japanese dining experience I’ve experienced outside of Japan. A choice of 2 menus deliver headline ingredients but with added bonus treats from the hands of the sushi chefs adding mouth popping freshness around the perfectly formed plates.
