Veleno Cocktail Bar & Pasta

Between Piazza Navona and Trastevere, from July 2023, the lower floor of the restaurant Luciano Cucina Italiana will house a cocktail bar. The name 'poison' is a tribute to Paracelsus' statement: 'Nothing is in itself poison, everything is in itself poison, it is the dose that makes the poison'. In the sign's only room, the colours lampblack and cement grey dominate, occasionally enlivened by 'viper' green. Behind the counter, in sheet iron, bar manager Luca Fanari develops a signature-only drink list in which maximum emphasis is placed on the ingredient, of Italian origin and very often local, through homemade cordials or infusions. If at the cocktail bar you can taste the dishes of executive chef-owner Luciano Monosilio in combination with the drinks - although the latter have not been specifically designed for pairing - at the restaurant you can try a preview of the cocktail bar, with the menu of mixing classics, including contemporary ones, that Luca has designed specifically for this context. The special feature of Veleno is its hidden location, which gives the restaurant's customers a 'Narnia' effect.
