Whilst restaurants trend towards higher levels of sophistication and intricacy Hugh Corcoran and his small team have pushed back and opened The Yellow Bittern, an 18 seat Irish restaurant above a basement bookstore that champions simplicity and the art of lunching.
The menu is short and void of gimmicks, think stews and pies. There is no wine list (outside of Hugh’s head) and bookings are only via phone (or postcard!).
Highly recommended for those yearning the simpler things in life. Give them a call, go with an open mind, a healthy appetite and don’t forget to go to the ATM as it’s cash only! Thoroughly refreshing!
