There is a somewhat quiet but exciting resurgence of classic French cuisine in NYC. Case in point Le Chêne from Chef Alexia and Ronan Duchêne. We found the riveting dishes to be true to their classic french interpretations whilst also presenting a lighter updated modern take. The Crab Thermidor with vadouvan is a wonderful lighter riff on the classic Lobster Thermidor dish. The tarragon sauce accompanying the beans is life affirming. What a stunning debut! BRAVO! Excellent deep wine list.
