Two concepts rolled into a World's 50 Best: a Mexican taqueria joint and late night agave spirits barQuixotic Groups knows how to create a VIBE. Candelaria is open seven days a week, and consistently a best bar winner on international lists since opening 11 years ago. With two different concepts in one space, regulars know exactly where they are headed. It is either the tiny taqueria (seen behind by the neon pink “TACOS” sign in the window) for its authentic chilaquiles, carnitas, flautas, quesadilles, and tacos with quality tequila & mezcal shots, cervezas, frozen margaritas etc.(brunch on weekends too) OR late night for the dimly-lit craft cocktail bar reached via a door in the back of the taqueria. Friendly staff advise on agave-based spirits and house creations like “La Guepe Verte” - chili-infused tequila, cucumber, cilantro and lime. Fabulous guac and chips can be eaten in the cocktail bar. Quixotic is the same team behind Le Mary Celeste and Bar Marilou in New Orleans with new projects coming soon. Taqueria Mon-Thurs 5pm-11.30pm / Fri-Sun 12pm-11.30pm. Bar daily 6pm-2am.
