I’m glad that places like Bourke’s still exist in Hong Kong. With the current economic circumstances and high operating costs, there are fewer and fewer restaurants that provide high-quality bistro food without breaking the bank.
Bourke’s turned my Hong Kong Monday night into a Melbourne Friday night by serving hearty dishes such as ox tongue skewers, steak tartare, and yellowfin tuna with nori tempura. Everything is under $200, except for the Bavette steak that comes with a bowl of very evil but delicious chicken fat potatoes.
Ah, did I mention they serve very good martini and some very affordable interesting wine too?
