Overview

At World of Mouth, we are building an exclusive yet global community of food lovers whom we help to never eat in a bad place again. We call this 100% hit rate.

We bring the community together in our app, where every WoM Member shares places they’d recommend to their friends. We currently have over 180,000 users, and over 20,000 restaurant recommendations in more than 3,000 cities across the globe.

On top of Member Recommendations, our crown jewel is the Expert Community, consisting of top chefs, sommeliers, and baristas who give their exclusive insights on where to eat.

To keep the 100% hit rate a reality, the content created by our community must be actively shaped, refined, and challenged to stay credible, novel, and versatile. This responsibility sits at the core of this role – and will be your number one priority.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own the quality control of Member and Expert recommendations, ensuring they meet World of Mouth standards
  • Build and maintain automations to improve curation efficiency as we scale
  • Design and execute the Expert Community strategy together with Creative Director
  • Own and develop key features in app
  • Take part in company-wide discussions on where we should take WoM

Requirements

1. Problem-solving mindset

You enjoy breaking down complex, often ambiguous problems and tackling them head-first with a structured approach. You thrive in environments where not everything is clearly defined yet.

2. Technical proficiency

You don’t need to be a developer, but you are comfortable with – or motivated to learn – managing and automating large datasets. You are curious about AI-driven processes and how they can support content curation. Experience with databases, SQL, and AI automations is considered a plus.

3. Relationship with food

You care deeply about where you eat and have a strong sense of what makes a good restaurant, meal, or dining experience. You intuitively understand what World of Mouth stands for.

4. Communication & judgment

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally with the team and externally with our Member and Expert Community
  • A sharp eye for nuance when assessing WoM-level quality
  • Ability to stand your ground: you will ultimately decide which recommendations belong in World of Mouth and which fall below our quality threshold. You are comfortable making judgment calls – and with the fact that not everyone will agree with them.

5. 2 years of prior experience from content curation

We emphasise potential over experience, and willingness to learn and grow over perfect resumes. You can be a recent graduate, currently in your Masters and/or have experience in work or volunteering. If you have a sharp nose for curating content, making judgment calls and managing our data, you may be the person we are looking for.

Practicalities

Full-time, paid position with a permanent contract, starting at the beginning of February.

We aim to close the process as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

Our team is primarily based at our Helsinki office. We work in a hybrid model, with weekly office presence required.
