Extravagant Open Fire Cooking Experience 11 Woodfire is an absolutely breathtakingly beautiful restaurant located in the residential suburb of Jumeirah in Dubai. As the name itself implies, the restaurant’s cooking philosophy is based on the concept of fire, featuring huge open kitchen grill areas. The food is fabulous with standout dishes including the beetroot starter showcasing feta cheese, berries, aged balsamic and hazelnuts as well as the beautifully smooth and creamy potato mousseline with truffle; simply superb. Signature woodfired dishes include the beef skewers, chicken wings, lamb chops and crispy duck leg, to name a few. 11 woodfire also serves up some tasty mocktails as well as a diverse range of beautiful teas; the tea trolley experience comes highly recommended. Also on offer at 11 Woodfire, are some fantastic desserts with the burnt cheesecake being a well-deserved favourite.

Phenomenal The setting is magnificent with huge windows looking into the huge aquarium at the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai. This is a Michelin starred restaurant that may well get its second star next week. The food is fantastic and the chef takes you on a voyage of taste and sight. Highly recommended tasting menu.

Best spicy fried prawns ever… This is a hidden gems only locals know about. They do south Indian style foods and specialize in fish and prawns. For me, their fried prawns are the best I ever had. They are spicy and delicious. Go for a grilled or fried fish as well. It is one of my Dubai favorite meals.

I recommend Alici as it is one of the better Italian restaurants in Dubai with a beautiful location overlooking the Arabian Sea and the Dubai Marina skyline. It is a picturesque lunch spot (dinner also available) serving good food in a sophisticated atmosphere. The wine menu is also strong. The sunny terrace is replete with trees and cobalt pots making for excellent al fresco dining in the more forgiving winter months. I recommend sitting upstairs in front of the large windows or on the terrace to enjoy the best views. The menu is primarily seafood but there are a few options in case you’re with people who do not like seafood. I recommend the grilled octopus with beluga lentils with a saffron red pepper romanesco sauce (85 dhs), oven baked Atlantic halibut with clams, razor clams, mussels and a seafood broth (135 dhs), raw gambero rosso prawns (85dhs), black truffle risotto (175dhs), cannoli (45dhs).

While this is not the most popular Chinese restaurants in Dubai, it’s one of the best especially for a lazy weekend dim sum. It’s brand new but I’m ready to recommend it. The Guild is now into its 3rd month and it keeps on getting better. It’s a huge restaurant with multiple kitchens. It’s also beautifully designed and built. The drinks are excellent as is the food. There’s a wood burning oven that’s visible from the main room called The Salon. There’s a raw bar and a big selection of fish as well. You can get everything from a burger to a steak sandwich to a wagyu steak to a turbot to a … you get the point. There’s something for everyone.
