At Mr. Jiu’s chef Brandon Jew is Chinese American, and he's really drawing upon his Chinese heritage. He was trained in restaurants that were very focused on California cuisine, often European kind of sensibilities, and he's taken that type of cooking and integrated the two so he’s cooking from some traditional recipes, but using superlative ingredients and local ingredients to create his own style. I see that all throughout the Bay Area.
