The name of the newcomer references Marcus Samuelsson, the famous talent behind Aquavit and Red Rooster in New York. For his latest act, the chef is fusing the flavors of where he was born (Ethiopia) with where he was raised (Sweden) and combining them with where he’s travelled: pretty much everywhere. First among equals is the crab rice, but the blue cornbread, fluke crudo and rice pudding are mighty good, too. The room mirrors the menu. It’s a riot of color.
